    Who Are We

    We are a comprehensive vascular practice located in the heart of Umhlanga at the Busamed Gateway Private Hospital. We are dedicated to the evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and management of vascular disease. Vascular diseases are conditions that affect the arteries and veins in your body - the blood vessels that deliver oxygen and nutrients that allow your organs to function.

    Vascular diseases are very common and among the most prevalent medical disorders worldwide. Unfortunately they are a major cause of disability and death as well.     Dr Anupa Ramnarain is a certified vascular and endovascular surgeon as well as a member of the VASSA (Vascular Society of South Africa) executive committee. She has been in the vascular field since 2007 and has been involved in undergraduate and post graduate vascular teaching and training.

    Dr Ramnarain is proficient in both open and minimally invasive (endovascular) procedures. For open these include, among others, arterial bypass, carotid endarterectomy, aortobifemoral bypass, aortic and peripheral aneurysm repair (including angiogram access site complications), venous surgery and haemodialysis access. For endovascular these include, among others, peripheral angioplasty and stenting, endovascular aneurysm/aortic repair (EVAR), thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR), coil embolisation, covered stent grafts, snaring of retained guidewires, thrombin injection for pseudoaneurysms and radiofrequency ablation (RFA).
