Busamed Gateway Private Hospital offers facilities used to perform non-invasive and painless imaging and physiological testing of the vascular system.
Duplex-Doppler (Ultrasound) is particularly well suited for evaluating arteries and veins. It allows for real-time imaging of the blood vessels and gives critical information about blood flow and other characteristics that allow your vascular surgeon to identify and qualify and conditions you may have. Most tests last roughly 30 minutes, are painless, and require no changes to your normal medications or routine.
Duplex-Doppler (Ultrasound) Detection.
Specific diagnoses/conditions where ultrasound is used to identify, qualify and track vascular conditions are:
- Abdominal aortic neurysm
- Aneurysm or blockage of abdominal arteries (arteries to the kidneys, spleen or intestines)
- Carotid arteries (blockages)
- Arteries of the legs and/or arms
- Blood clots (deep vein thrombosis - DVT) of the legs or arms
- Venous insufficiency, or "reflux," causing varicose veins
- Vein mapping for hemodialysis surgery
